With Elvis Week (yes this is mark the 36th Anniversary of his passing) just around the corner, I wanted to give you a list of some of the best Elvis Tribute shows around.

Yes the all caps are necessary, and no I am not yelling at you, but I just don't want you to miss these great shows courtesy of Mary Jo. The Clarion Hotel will have a number of shows throughout the week, until the 18th of August, so just go and have a look see, you will not be disappointed.

Date Night with Elvis

Yes, you can have a date night with Elvis, and still be alive and well (don't think anyone would want to go on that date, even if it was with the one-and-only Elvis Presley). But in Memphis, TN just minutes away from the dearly departed home of Elvis Presley we have a show of a lifetime with Joe Kent.

    Joe Kent, a native of Memphis, has been performing "A Tribute to Elvis" for over 10 years. This talented entertainer has played in numerous cities including Memphis, St. Louis, Sun Valley, Lake Placid, and Las Vegas. Joe has also appeared at the Memories Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN with Charlie Hodges, Elvis' back up singer during his concert years.

The concert will be held at the in Memphis,TN at the Clarion Hotel Airport/Graceland on January 5, 2013. The ticket prices will be $20 per person, and will the show will last from 8:00p.m - until 12:00a.m. I am sure a date night with Elvis Presley would be a most memorable one. Hope to see you there.

Salsa in Memphis

There are tons of things one can do while in Memphis on the weekend. Beale Street, 452, a Grizzlies game, a Memphis Tigers game, a show at the Orpheum theater, and possibly go to one of the many art galleries in the Downtown/Midtown area of Memphis. But for those who like to stay busy on the weeknights as well their is something for you, even though it may require for some to acquire a more adventurous spirit. On Monday and Thursday nights for $15 ($40 for 4 classes) you can learn to dance salsa, and also the bachata. The dancing instructors are very hands on and professional. The people who go there are very nice, and the atmosphere is very friendly. Everyone is there to learn no matter how long you have been dancing there. The classes are held at the Minglewood Hall on Madison Avenue between 7:00p.m - 8:30p.m, and after learning you can dance on your own for a while. If you ever get a chance to come to Memphis please, stop by. Learning salsa might come in handy.

Nobody Runs For Fun

Life experiences has taught me alot of things. For example, No one can remember anything good that happened in Kindergarten. That person you like will always walk in during the bad conversations that can easily be taken out of context, and most importantly nobody runs for fun. After Kindergarten at least (when we learn that running into walls and doors hurts). Sure running is one of the best form of exercise, and ultimately good for you, and not much is required for you to get started, just time and willpower, but who finds it fun? Even though nobody runs for fun you can still enjoy it by knowing that your running is helping benefit someone who really needs help. Saturday Novemeber 31, is the annual St. Jude Marathon in Memphis, TN. Its not too late to join, you can go to the St. Jude website and see if you can register. If you are like me, running is no where near fun that you would want to pay to do it, you can donate, and just give support. Below is a link for you to do it. Black Friday is a holiday of tradition

Black Friday is truly something every year. Its the golden gateway to the Holiday Season, and the reason to shop at retail. With the shopping, traveling, and eating with family going on, you make think how it can get better. *Best Bob Barker voice from Price is Right* Well Come on Down. Spring Cleaning in November

With the Holidays coming up in just a few weeks everyone is busy shopping, decorating, and planning trips (to see family or keep away from family) Memphis second most famous street is getting a long awaited facelift. Starting November 15, Elvis Presley Blvd will start its Groundbreaking remodel at 3:00 which will bring people from all over Memphis to celebrate this festive occasion. One way that one business will kick it off is with a show called "Christmas in Dixie" November 16 and 17, 2012. Don't think there will be any horses there, but the Lightning of Elvis 2012 in Memphis, TN will have something for everyone (it will be more exciting then horses, promise)!
